An Architect in the Garden
Join writer and former Glass House Educator Maureen Cassidy-Geiger at the New Canaan Library for a presentation that explores the history of the Glass House landscape. In her new book, The Philip Johnson Glass House: An Architect in the Garden, Cassidy-Geiger analyzes the evolution of this architectural gem built on 49 acres with eleven Johnsonian follies dating back from 1949 to 1995. With over half a century of their gardening and landscaping partnership, Philip Johnson and David Whitney produced a sublime and scenic setting for the Glass House and the site’s other structures.
Please note that this program takes place at the New Canaan Library, 151 Main Street, New Canaan, CT 06840.
Copies of Maureen Cassidy-Geiger’s book will be available for purchase at the event.
