On Sunday, April 23, 2023, Terence Gower staged a performance of Virgil Thomson’s Five Phrases from the Song of Solomon in collaboration with the Yale School of Music. This ten-minute song cycle, first performed in Philip Johnson’s East 49th Street apartment in 1932, was presented twice in two distinct acoustic settings, in the Sculpture Gallery and in the Glass House itself.
