Furniture and the Bauhaus
Join Hilary Lewis for a presentation on the Glass House’s extraordinary collection of Bauhaus-era furniture and the connection between Philip Johnson and the early developments of European modernism.

Hilary Lewis is Chief Curator and Creative Director at The Glass House. She is co-author of Philip Johnson: The Architect in His Own Words and The Architecture of Philip Johnson. She worked directly with the architect during the last decade of his life. Lewis received her training in architectural history and urban planning at MIT and Harvard, where she also taught. Overall, her work addresses the public aspects of architecture, preservation, and design.
Glass House Presents at New Canaan Library is an occasional series of talks and events about architecture, design, and Modernism in New Canaan and beyond. The series is collaboratively organized by the Glass House and New Canaan Library.
