Join curators David A. Hanks, Juliet Kinchin, and Hilary Lewis for a discussion about the furniture inside the Glass House, much of which derives from Philip Johnson’s 1930 New York apartment designed by Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich. The program includes a self-guided tour of the Glass House site as well as a light reception.

David A. Hanks is Curator of the Liliane and David M. Stewart Program for Modern Design, and curator of Partners in Design: Alfred H. Barr Jr. and Philip Johnson. His previous publications for the Stewart Program include The Century for Modern Design (2010) and American Streamlined Design: The World of Tomorrow (2005).

Juliet Kinchin is Curator in the Department of Architecture and Design at The Museum of Modern Art. Since joining MoMA in 2008, she has organized exhibitions including What Was Good Design? MoMA’s Message 1939-55, Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen, Century of the Child: Growing by Design 1900-2000, Designing Modern Women 1900-2000, and Making Music Modern: Design for Ear and Eye.

Hilary Lewis is Chief Curator & Creative Director at The Glass House. Lewis is co-author of Philip Johnson: The Architect in His Own Words and The Architecture of Philip Johnson.
