Tomashi Jackson | Robert Rauschenberg
Presented in collaboration with the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation on the occasion of the artist’s centennial, The Glass House, a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, will mount an exhibition in 2026 of newly commissioned works by artist Tomashi Jackson in dialogue with works by Rauschenberg from the historic site’s permanent collection: Empire II (1961), Ringmaster (1980), and Recital (1980). Responding in part to Rauschenberg’s multidisciplinary practice, Jackson will create these works while on a Rauschenberg Foundation residency this year at the artist’s former home and studio in Captiva, Florida. Jackson employs painting, printmaking, photography, and performance to examine how color theory, abstraction, and social histories intersect in shaping perception and everyday life.
